became the greatest privatiers of the motorcycle racing
history. It was 1971 (at the age of 23) in a dutch pub,
afther looking at a race where his career started. He
told as a joke "i can beat all these guys on my street
legal Honda 450 !" His friends made a bed on that
and as a surprice to al....he toke part at the next practise
and put the quickest time ! |

back of the field. To show that he realy was THE men,
he pased everyone. Then his bike started to become problems,

was ranked at the vourth spot in Championship. But at
the GP of France it went terible wrong. He crashes and
get problems with his hand. He has to recover and misses
the TT-Assen and the GP of Francorchamps. Afther his comeback
he gatherd more points and ended eight overal for the
GP Championship |
